I had a great time for two days attending the UVU Forum on Engaged Reading. I was honored that Gene Nelson asked me to help build and present the Best Books list in front of the entire group. I had a great time meeting librarians, teachers, and parents from all over the state (though Nebo and Alpine Districts were amply represented!) and I went out to dinner with a large group and got to sit next to Kelly Barnhill, the 2017 Newbery award winner for her book “The Girl Who Drank the Moon”. The next day I was overwhelmed by the audience and positive response to my session about Using Picture Books with Middle and High School Students.
